I don't understand what exactly you mean by "after sometime".
but investing money is Halal. it's just like Tigara or doing business
[like you invest some money let's say $100 to buy Food, then you sell this Food for other people with $120] < this is tigara and it's halal

If you invest $100 and you can get $130 after a month. it's Riba [because it's Fixed %30 with Fixed amount of time]

and you'll get a fixed % in a fixed amount of time. this is Riba

investing money/doing business/Tigara whatever you call it is halal [insha'Allah]
and it's not about investing, it's about how to invest or what you invested your money in


like in No1, you're managing your money.
you rented a shop, bough some goods and the total cost was $1000.
so, you invested $1000 and you don't know how much you would earn. [you may loss]
you can calculate your profit in weekly/monthly/yearly basis and still unknown amount of profit
this No1, is Tigara and it's halal [insha'Allah]

the example No2, i think there's nothing like that in offline business [if you have an example post it, so i can understand it better]
or do you mean buying/renting refs in online business?

1.if some one asks me to become his referral, he will pay me  X per month, but he says deal will be cancel if scam. will the profit i get (X) money after a month from him will b considered as riba?( i will have to click under him, so its not idle money, i am doing work, but i have not invested a single penny. there is a risk for site getting scam, but i will probably get money from him if i click for him)

2.If i hire someone as a referral and give him (X) amount of money per month for clicking under me, and i invest in the site like Y amount of dollars, to get me an upgrade to pay him X amount in 1 month, will referral making be considered as haram? (i don't do any work, its pretty much free money, if he clicks, then i get money, if he doesn't then i don't, and there is no risk in getting money from his clicks, but there is a risk in site getting scam)

personally, i believe that no.1 is halal while no.2 is haram, i can' t generate even a single reason to back it up, i just believe.

in my opinion it's not ....... internet work is hilal ( not haram )
because you put an investment which he website you put in is working with it in advertisement career & you got your share from their profits
also you make an effort working with them in supporting through viewing advertisers website & suppot their link ...
but what i'm sure about is that the only thing which haram is ( hyip ) websites

Yes, your No 1 question answer is yes, it's Halal inshallah 
no about your No 2 question, the short answer is yes too, it's haram

because of the reasons you said, you don't work, free money
plus, PTC admins will always manipulate your ref clicks rate, and clicks values too to make him earn more
if he could do that, he will scam
so, it's not fair deal, it's not a clear market you can say "yes, i can earn a lot, or no i can't make it"
it's always about the admin profit

so, i agree with you in both questions
