Switch to another registrar
Aug 18, 2021 02:51 PM
All my domain names are with one registrar. For the last 3 years I have been registering everything in one place.
But now I don't like the payment methods and the quality of the support. I have about 30 domain names now, is it possible to switch to another registrar without consequences?

Yes, you can switch.
But you will have to extend with 1 year on every domain, that's the most common term.
Some of them have additional fees, but most offer it for free, you just need to extend the domain with 1 more year with them.

I also once transferred domains from one registrar to another. But I had to transfer each domain separately. Now I use
https://pananames.com/
registrar, it supports Bulk Transfer. So if your registrar allows domain transfers, why not?

Does it make sense to buy cheap domain names for a promotion, and then transfer them to a registrar, where renewal is cheaper?

If it is possible to transfer such TLDs later to another registrar, where the cost of renewal is cheaper, then why not.
