Are you legal in that country?if you are then you just need to apply. It usually takes about a month but you can ask for an express delivery I guess.

Yeah pretty much what was said is true. If you are immigrating though you will have to wait for a few years before you can apply for a passport just because you need a full-citizen status before you can do that. I personally am currently living in the states but I am here with an e1 visa which allows me to work and trade but I am not a citizen so I do not have the opportunity to get a passport. I am happy though because I always wanted to live in the States so it is a step in the right direction. I am glad that when I found out I had this opportunity I did not go cheap and hired a lawyer after I gathered some information regarding the visa itself. I basically googled something in the lines of e1 visa Los Angeles (I always wanted to live in LA) and in about 30 minutes figured I would need help. I ended up hiring one of the best immigration attorneys money could buy on the west cost but at least I had my case processed faster and I had a positive outcome. So yeah never cheap out on a lawyer.
