Hey guys, I've bought a .com for less than a dollar and now stuck with $18.17 for renewal. Is it something normal? Are there any cheaper options?

yes many services are giving cheap first time buy and normal price for renewal

it depends on which service u are using

Yes, that's how it works. Especially with those new TLDs, don't be fooled by a cheap deal.  Although there are smaller registrars with fair pricing even for renewals. Check https://pananames.com/ they don't hide prices for renewals and charge way lower for it.

Search for discount codes (dont know whats the domain registrar you use, so i cant narrow your search)

I checked. Here the prices are set 10 years in advance. It's good and fair.
