Tell your friend to buy TLD domain ($18 for 2 years) and commercial hosting ($100 for 2 years). If he can't spend $118 then what the members expectation to be paid? Supposed that no one will upgrade or advertise and all members are requesting for cashout next month, let's say $1,000 in total, can he pay for that amount?

This wont happen. Do you know why??? Because there are only 5 members in his site and if everyone clicked every ad everyday, then it would take him/her 100,000 days to reach that point. Also, my friend will get some profits out of the site. See what I mean. Anyway thanks for the info about commercial hosting and domain rates. I hope he will soon buy one as he gets more profits. Thanks again for the advice!!!

The OP can argue all he wants about paying but there is one BIG issue, without a $7 .com domain name guess what? That free host is going to axe the site since PTC sites take allot of resources, and since your domain is actually the freehost itself then it is game over and your members get ripped off. There is no way to transfer that free domain to another host.

I started my online businesses with $57 to my name so there is no excuse to not purchase the right stuff before hand.

depends on the script your using. If you have 500 members on a gen2 or gen3 then yeah you need a dedicated because the sql is not optimized any and will get you suspended on a free host for using too many resources.
