I have shifted to new hosting and tried to migrate from the old one
I took a full backup from the cpanel of the home directory and restored it to the new hosting
I took the Backup of the SQL database and restored that to the new site, in the phpMyadmin all the tables and details are alright but my database show as 0.00 Mb as its size
i am not able to restore my database,   
does anybody know how to restore the database and make the complete site functional again

Why don't you contact your hosting provider and let them take care of the data transfer for you?

If you are unable to restore the MySQL database through phpMyAdmin, contact your hosting provider and provide them your database and ask them to restore it for you.

they did restore it and the site has started to work fine but in my first hosting cpanel the size of the database showed as 8 Mb but in the present it shows as 0 Mb, but all the tables are intact when i check it thru phpmyadmin,
why is this difference. at present i am not able to make out whether i have lost any data or not.

but i want to know from SnoorkAdvertiser is that how to do this migration, i want to know the complete procedure step by step if anybody can guide me or show me some link to it,
i tried to google it, but not much success, i think that is is a well kept secret and nobody wants to share it.

Your database is ok. It hapened to me also the same. Just check after few days and you see all is normal. Imposrtant that your site is up.

my site is working fine but i want to learn how to move sites from one hosting to another hosting company without external interference as we have to wait for them and they do it
according to their schedule and time, if i know it how to do it , i can do it at the earliest with priority

can anyone just guide me step by step
