I notice so many PTC and HYIP scams it's almost amazing to have to sift through 5000 scams to find 1 good site.......  What I am curious about is this.  These scam sites might cloak their whois info, but they still have to sign up for hosting don't they ?  And to do so hosting asks for personal info and keeps logs of IPs and full names and proof etc.

How do scammers get away with this ?  Don't hosting companies detect when a member is running a high yield site ?   Is it possible for scammed members to contact hosting company and they take actions against scammer ?

Can just about ANYBODy just find cheap hosting and a pirated HYIP script and run a scam is it that easy Huh?

Something has to be done!

and when I see that US based hosting companies are ACCEPTING to host HYIP sites and not doing ANYTHING against those scammers that's beyond belief.

Its a little bit of blame of everyone

1) Its so easy to scam, people invest in anything these days

2) PP/AP or whatever payment processor is, its so easy to open other account, and even at 1st account, they never check anything properly

3) The host companies, maybe we can also accuse them a little for not check their costumers, etc but is not exacly their job, to be guard of the sites of their costumers. The

4) The Script companies, that make it so easy and cheap buy a PTC/HYIP script . Not even age check up is made, so  der

IF YOU HAVE TO PAY IN ORDER TO BE PAID - RUN

1st - would be for the the clickers, to stop up-grading at the drop of a hat .. let the site run for a couple of months before go in blindly and spend the money, then cry scam before they get their first payment ..

Doesn't matter how many times the vets around here with their vast knowledge warn other members,  they are human and they will do what they want no matter what the advice ..

These sites  started as a business where advertisers ( real ) could get their product shown over the internet and ""clickers"" would be there to make a little extra money a month ... somewhere the translation got lost ... The "" admins "" that only started these sites to get as much money as possible from advertisers , get as much "" up-grades""  from clickers and run ... this is how the  SCAM was born.

Or the other ones  who tell you ,  you must  up-grade in order to be paid  or you must by advertising in order to be paid,  and  clickers still sign up whether or not it is sustainable or not ....

Also at the same time you have the  Handful Honest admins  banging their heads off the walls trying to prove themselves day in and day out that they are not here to scam .. waiting for the clickers to come back,  because how can they compete with the 2.00 pay-out and instant ...

You say  why the hosting companies are not more diligent  in whom they offer their services to...simple, Those  who are honest  give their honest information..... those who are not, don't ..

Also this is a business..Business are in business to make money ..

We could  also  blame the  payment processors,  why are they allowing people to make  multi accts there ... that I do not understand ..it makes it easier for those to take advantage of other people easily ...

just my 2 cents  big grin

Most hosting companies have private policies, so you'd need a court order to get that information.  in some cases, it's the hosting company running the scam.

As far as age goes, the people who were making and selling the AuroraGPT script...  All started when they were under 18...  I think the youngest was 13 or so.  So if your going to pin blame on someone you should be blaming the banks for giving these people bank accounts which allowed them to open payment processor accounts...

Paypals does stop some of the fraud, but it's more so when your selling fake items they will go after you.  As with a paid to click site it isn't always easy for a processor to prove that it was fraud or just a bad business plan.

they can't and often have to close...  Then get called a scam..

As far as why don't hosting companies...  they like the scams since hosting is about profits...

Should note that things took a turn for the worst when people started investing into the industry.  Buying ads an upgrades to sell a product is a form of investing, but when people started investing into the sites in hopes of getting a return of investment from the site itself vs selling something from ads.  from there site owners ran with it.

Ironically the users themselves are contributing as well to most of these "Scams" because they are so paranoid of being scammed that they do disputes and chargebacks at the drop of a hat. A site has maintenance or server issues for 30 minutes and people are filing PayPal and AlertPay disputes. This causes AP and PP to limit their accounts, then the site cant access their money and close down.

I also hate how everyone overuses the word Scam. A Scam is a site opened solely for the purpose of accumulating money and shutting down without paying users. These are not as common as most people think. Most sites are just poorly managed or under capitalized, i.e. owners are too optimistic about advertising income, etc. Most sites die because they run out of money to pay users, not because the owner planned to shut it down after 3 months when he made $5000. These are just sites that failed, not scams.

freon brings a good point, users too contribute to scamming.  It is not uncommon for users who get scammed by a PTC or HYIP to open a scam site themselves to recover the money lost and to make more money.  In fact take neobux for example, some users have left NB to start their own PTC, and there was a member at some point (banned now permanently) who admitted he was running a PTC with bots only and scamming, admin banned him on the spot.  so there you have it,   Hosting is cheap and the availability of scripts is there, anybody can have a LR account and hosting companies don't give a s**t as long as you pay them and don't host porn or warez or cporn.......

seems PTC and HYIP scammers have full immunity........

I put the BIG blame on HYIP script writers for making it EASY for an admin to scam people using internal settings, scripts like GoldCoders to name a few, pathetic when I think about it....

Scammed people are mostly passive after they were scammed, and this encourage scammers to open another "scam-bux.com" or similar .

In my opinion we should not accept and allow the fact that some "Admin" or some BUX just scams or steels our money. In such a case we just should report this case to the police.
But people mostly find some excuses ( "I was only scammed on few dollars" or "police will do nothing" etc) and do nothing Sad

If you were scammed just find any info about owner ( on whois site, emails and names on payment proof etc) and go with all this to the police (they are paid to an investigation even if you were scamed on $1 )

the only stop scammed.  If paypal or alertpay.  We are no longer accepting any PTR OR PTC as business model?

What do you think it is going to happen?  It will hurt Honest webmaster?

The other thing you can do.  Write a BBB and contact senator, congress and many more.

If a group hundred people are start calling your senator, congress, president.

THIS HAPPEN TO NETWINNER got Shut down by government.

Maybe government will be shutting down all bux program.

One of the reasons why some sites turn scam.
see the img below,
Accepted - 42, Denied - 29, Disputes - 0

What do you say about these users who create fake accounts. Note the percentage - 41% fake accounts.

I recently bought two packs(PTSU - 100 each) in 2 sites.
Results were alarmingly pathetic.
hmmm... increasing number of cheats these days...
